Belmont Park

Located at San Diego's Mission Beach, Belmont Park was built in 1925 and reopened in the late 1980s as the only beachside amusement park in southern California. Attractions at Belmont Park include the Giant Dipper, the original wooden roller coaster and now a local landmark, and The Plunge, the original swimming pool.

Birch Aquarium at Scripps

Located in Balboa Park and one of the city's most celebrated and best-known tourist attractions, San Diego Zoo is home to over 4,000 animals (some 650 different species), ranging from the exotic to local, as well as numerous endangered species. Founded in 1916, the zoo boasts an excellent range of themed exhibits and modern, spacious enclosures. Of note, the entrance is to be found just off Park Boulevard.
